Maori Language Week

This week is 'Maori Language Week' which is a very important week for New Zealand. At Glen Taylor School, we celebrated Maori Language Week by having a hangi and learning how to play the traditional game 'Poi Rakau'. The hangi was very delicious and it was a great experience having a taste of the Maori culture. Poi Rakau was so much fun and I would love to play it again!

Keke Vai Siaine

For Tongan Language Week, we learnt how to make Keke Vai Siaine! We watched a video on how to make it and then wrote the recipe in our own words. I also wrote down the shopping list and the cost of the ingredients.

Tonga's Gold Teeth

Today for Literacy, we had to watch a short film about the origin of 'Tonga's gold teeth'. It is about a young boy named Sione whom ran away from home and came across a piece of gold. Enjoy!

Dawn Raids

For my #3 task for history, I had to write a synonym/metaphor poem about the dawn raids. My poem is about someone getting separated from their family and being taken away. Unfortunately this actually used to be reality and has happened to a lot of people.

Brownies Recipe

Today for LCS, I had to make my brownie recipe. Here is the recipe that me, Tracey & Sar Yar Chan are going to accomplish. I also wrote down the shopping list and the prices of the ingredients which are all from countdown!

History Task #2

This is my completed task for History! I had to write down my definitions of those words and then the revised definition. Most of these words were brand new to me, so I had to guess. This task took a lot of inferring and thinking to complete. Enjoy!
