Tech - Science
Yesterday at tech, I had my first (in real life) session at science class. We were learning about electricity and how we could save energy. Firstly, we learnt about different ways on how to save power and why we should! Here are some ways to save power - Always turn off the lights when not using, make sure to never leave the tap on when not using, take shorter showers and always remember to turn off the plugs. We also learnt on how to make a light bulb lit up by using 4 materials. This was a great experience!

Maori Language Week
This week is 'Maori Language Week' which is a very important week for New Zealand. At Glen Taylor School, we celebrated Maori Language Week by having a hangi and learning how to play the traditional game 'Poi Rakau'. The hangi was very delicious and it was a great experience having a taste of the Maori culture. Poi Rakau was so much fun and I would love to play it again!

Keke Vai Siaine

For Tongan Language Week, we learnt how to make Keke Vai Siaine! We watched a video on how to make it and then wrote the recipe in our own words. I also wrote down the shopping list and the cost of the ingredients.

Tonga's Gold Teeth
Today for Literacy, we had to watch a short film about the origin of 'Tonga's gold teeth'. It is about a young boy named Sione whom ran away from home and came across a piece of gold. Enjoy!

Jason Taumalolo Facts Sheet

Today for Tongan Language Week, we had to pick a famous Tongan person and create a facts sheet about them. Here is my facts sheet that I have made about Jason Taumalolo! I also wrote down 5 questions I would like to ask him if I had the chance to interview them. Enjoy!

Dawn Raids

For my #3 task for history, I had to write a synonym/metaphor poem about the dawn raids. My poem is about someone getting separated from their family and being taken away. Unfortunately this actually used to be reality and has happened to a lot of people.
