Summer Learning Journey! W2 Day 1 , Activity 2: The Right to Vote!
I think it is not fair because everyone should get the right to vote because they live in the country as well. If I was someone who lived in Saudi Arabia , I would feel like I am living somewhere unrespectful.

Things to do at Waitiangi as a visitor!
1. You can watch the live kapa haka performances in a hotel.

If I could only pick one thing to do in Waitangi , I would explore the place and take photos of it because I love seeing wonderful things and taking a picture , so I could make it a memory.

Summer Learning Journey! Day 3 , Activity 1: It's All in The Family
Would you enjoy being a member of such a large family?
I wouldn't want to be a member of a large family because there's not gonna be lots of space in the house and also it's gonna be hard to know everyone names and my parents have to make sure every 9 of us is safe. I could get lost going somewhere with my family.
Well , that's my answer , what's yours?

Summer Learning Journey! Day 2 , Bonus Activity: Special Meals
My favorite meal is: Har Gow Shrimp Dumpling!
It is my favorite meal because It has an amazing taste and also because I love shrimp.
What You'll need: 3/4 cup wheat starch , 2 tablespoons tapioca starch , 1/4 teaspoon salt , 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons boiling water , 2 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil: , Har Gow Filling , 6 ounces raw shrimp, rinsed, tails removed, chopped , 3 tablespoons finely chopped bamboo shoots , 1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped green onion , 3/4 teaspoon Chinese rice wine or dry sherry , 1/4 teaspoon Asian sesame oil , 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste , Pinch of fresh ground white pepper (about 1/8 teaspoon) , 1 egg white, lightly beaten , 2 teaspoons cornstarch , Other: Vegetable oil, as needed.
How to make it:
1. In a medium bowl, combine the wheat starch, tapioca starch and the salt. Slowly stir in 1/2 cup of the boiling water. Add the oil and begin using your hands to shape into a dough. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of boiling water if the dough is too dry. Don't overwork the dough, but continue shaping for about 2 minutes, until it is smooth and shiny. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
2. To prepare the filling, place the shrimp in a medium bowl, and add the other ingredients. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, to give the flavors a chance to blend.
3. To make the dumplings: Coat a paper towel with vegetable oil and use it to oil your cutting board or work surface and the broad side of a cutting knife or cleaver (a cleaver works best). Keep the dough covered to prevent it drying out while preparing the dumplings.
4. Break off 1 teaspoon of the Har Gow dough, roll into a ball and then flatten it by pressing it in the palm of your hand. Lay the dough on the work surface and press down on it with the oiled side of the knife or cleaver to form a circle that is 2 1/2 - 3 inches in diameter. Add a heaping teaspoon of filling and place it in the middle of the wrapper, spreading it out evenly but not touching the edges.
5. Carefully lift the upper edge of the wrapper and fold it over the filling. Use your thumb and forefinger to form pleats in the dough, and pinch the edges closed. Place the filled har gow on a plate and cover with a damp cloth to keep them from drying out while preparing the remainder of the dumplings.
6. Prepared a steamer for steaming. Steam the dumplings in batches, on an oiled plate, until the wrapper is translucent and the shrimp appear slightly orange (13 15 minutes). Serve the Har Gow with hot chili oil and/or soy sauce for dipping.

Summer Learning Journey! Bonus Activity: Waka Ama
My Opinion: In my opinion , I wouldn't want to attend the Waka Ama race , my reason is because I am really bad at paddling and if someone is past me , I get really nervous. Also because I do not like being in the ocean. But one day , I might want to be in the Waka Ama race.

If I had.......
If I had........
When I follow instructions , I get it right and don’t do the wrong thing. I don’t miss a step and I experience it in real life.
If I had my mum’s shiny eyes , people would tell me that I look like my mum and also that I have beautiful eyes.
It’s not about winning , It’s about having fun and not giving up.

The lighthouse!
The Lighthouse!
It was happy new year at midnight , so that means I have to look after the lighthouse because I am the only inventor in canada. Everybody was celebrating happy new year while i was doing my work in the lighthouse. I couldn’t focus because everyone was so loud and I’m an old man , so I can’t hear that good. I decided to close the window because I couldn't concrete.
Then , suddenly the light from the lighthouse went off. Everyone became quiet and they wasn’t celebrating anymore. The wind was so windy that it opened my window and blew out my candle. I went down to get my lantern but instead I fell down. I still got my lantern to fix the lighthouse tho! I ran and ran on the stairs until I got to the top!
When i got to the top , I looked in the light ball but……… then there was no light in the light ball. I took the machine in the light but then I dropped because it was so heavy. I said, to myself “ Oh what have i done , my boss is gonna kill me”! I sat down on the floor and got mad of myself. Shooh! Shooh! I saw that a ship was almost hitting that big rock because they didn’t have light to see where they were going. I felt really sad for them.
Then [KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!] someone was knocking on the lighthouse door but who was it? I went downstairs and opened the door. Then I saw everybody that lived in Canada coming in the lighthouse with a lantern , so they can help the ship not hitting the rocks. We all went on every outside stairs and hold our lantern up. Then the ship safely sailed off where ever they were going.
Then everyone celebrated in the lighthouse. That is the story , when I became the best canadian lighthouse keeper. Everyone lived happily ever after!
The end!
