Then it was time to create the clay. I rolled, mold, stacked and added all the pieces of the clay together to make it transform into my animal. It was really fun to create it. Then we also made a diorama of the animal's habitat. I painted bushes, mountains, trees and more. We got rocks, sticks from the real world to make it look more natural. Have you ever made a diorama before?
I am a learner at Glen Taylor School in Auckland, New Zealand. I am in Room 11 and my teacher is Miss Tupou.

Hello (again) Chanel
Hey Chanel, this term we have been learning about endangered animals... so we decided to make a clay sculpture out of an endangered animal. First, we did some research about the animal we chose. I picked the Sumatran Elephant! I had to learn about their, habitat, food, calf's, predators and I also had to do a poster with 10 facts about it.

Recycling Water
Recycling Water
Have you ever knew that the water you drink, may have been drank by a stranger before? Well if you have
never noticed this circumstance, today is your lucky day since I will be telling you how water gets
recycled
and reused!
never noticed this circumstance, today is your lucky day since I will be telling you how water gets
recycled
and reused!
First, I will be telling you about EVAPORATION! You probably are asking yourself right now “What is
evaporation?” Well evaporation is when the sun soaks up the water from the sea, river, puddle or lake.
The sun warms it up which makes the water rise up. Then the water vapour concluded together and it
transforms into a cloud.

The sun warms it up which makes the water rise up. Then the water vapour concluded together and it
transforms into a cloud.
Now, let's talk about CONDENSATION! It means when they water vapour in the cloud cools down and
reforms into water again. The water vapour gets so cold which makes the cloud lose lots of water.

The next step of the water cycle is… PRECIPITATION! This is when the water that cooled down, falls
down to turn into rain, snow, hail or either sleet.

Now, we are finally on the last step, which is COLLECTION! This part means the sea collects the things
consteinting of water. Afterward the water evaporates from the heat of the sun and it rises up. So then it
all starts again!

We use water, we drink water and we swim in it. Water is the number one thing a living thing needs.
We need water, so it would be good to learn about it. Next time you use water, think about this story and
wonder where it came from!

Dear, Madam
I wanted to ask if Room 10 could use your clay oven. It would be a pleasure to
borrow your oven since we have been working very hard on our clay sculptures.

We have made amazing clay carvings and it’s a shame, if we don’t have an oven
to burn it up! I hope you decide with an fanatic answer but beside all of that, I
wish you all the best and good luck for the future!

Dear Sir,
This letter is to ask if Room 10 could get access to google hangouts, so that they could have the authenticity to video call their buddies. It would be a pleasure if you allowed this offer, since it is a great way to communicate.
We certainly need this because it can empower our confidence by meeting new people, we could get inspired by them and learn new things. I would be so thrilled, if I had the opportunity to call someone that soon will become my new friend.
I hope you agree with our decision but if not, thank you for listening to our idea!
Sincerely,
Wint.

Hello Chanel!
Hey Chanel, I'm your buddy Wint! This week we have been learning about plastic. I learnt that plastic is bad for the environment, where it goes and how there is a pile of plastic that is size of Europe! It was really fun learning about plastic. Do you know anything about plastic? If you have, what is it.
Plastic Around The World!
Plastic Around The World
Do you know that plastic in the sea can affect the future and your life? Well if you have never thought about this question, continue the story…
The material plastic is a really powerful thing. It can create lots of useful things but is it good for the environment. The answer is no! With the use of sun, wind, water and heat, the plastic can shred apart. So then it turns into microplastic. You might be wondering what microplastic is, well it is a substance that is very deadly.
Microplastic is a compatible to looks considered from plankton. They both are tiny and you need a microscope to find them. Fish think microplastic is plankton, so they eat it and get sick.
Now let’s talk about the consequences for humans. If you eat the fish that had been eating microplastic, you could get cancer, asthma and other harmful illnesses. The sickness can cause death. People need to take more care into plastic since it can reflect their life!
Plastic is everywhere in the world. Wherever you’re reading this, there are probably tons of plastic surrounding your right now. Think of the out turn of the future and start recycling to make a change!

Protecting The Animals
Protecting The Animals
Did you know that some read species of animals are being endangered? Their health,
habitat and food are all being polluted. But do you know what you can do to help them?
Well today is the day, you’ll find your answer because I will be telling you about some
things about endangered animals…
habitat and food are all being polluted. But do you know what you can do to help them?
Well today is the day, you’ll find your answer because I will be telling you about some
things about endangered animals…
First of all, let’s talk about what animals need to survive. They need food, fresh air and
most importantly a big habitat! You might be asking yourself right now, why do some
animals need such a huge habitat, well that is because they need it to rome around
everywhere and a safe, calming area for their newborn babies. Therefore they also need
fresh air since their oxygen pulse is different from humans and they need natural, cool air.

animals need such a huge habitat, well that is because they need it to rome around
everywhere and a safe, calming area for their newborn babies. Therefore they also need
fresh air since their oxygen pulse is different from humans and they need natural, cool air.
Now let’s talk about how animals are being jeopardize. For example let’s discuss about
the amur leopard. There are only a few of them left in the wild because people have been
cutting down their trees, so not lots of them can live in the same habitat. A few other
reasons why animals are becoming nearly-extinct is because their water is being polluted,
small area, food being poisoned and hunters trying to kill them.

Do you want to know how to help them? Well you could try to help them by not littering,
planting trees & plants and you could educate others. Tell your family, friends,
neighbors, classmates all about imperil animals. Their life is at risk and you could save
them. Put yourself in their shoes and think if you would want someone to help you
situation.
All around the world, animals are getting more closely to exterminated. They are being
endangered because so many things are ruining their environment. You could make a
change and help the animals!

Unnoticeable
Unnoticeable
“That was the coolest party ever!” yelled Sophie. Cheerful laughs and talks about
memories, were being shared at lunch. They were all obsessed about the party and they
didn’t even acknowledge Brian by asking him how he felt since he wasn’t invited. Brian
was used to feeling left out. No one ever cared about him and they treated him like he
wasn’t even around. He felt like he was as invisible as a ghost. Usually at play time, Brian
would be by himself, sadly sworming on the swing and being gloomy as an thunderstorm.
Everyone thought he was a mouse pretender, he didn’t talk that much to others. The next
day came by with a new boy in the class. Brian gleamed at him and looked very closely.
“Everyone, this is our new student, say hello Justin” said the teacher. Justin gave a
pleasing, good welcoming hello. Justin took attention of Brian and smiled hoping he will
smile back. Justin looked like a nice boy. He had a pale face like a marshmallow and
dark, black licorice looking hair. He had glossy, dirt brown eyes that shine bright like
gems. Brian thought Justin was different from the others, so he smiled back. At lunch,
Justin had some traditional, juicy, tender Korean beef. As people saw it, they immediately
started making disgusted faces. The smell of the beef smelt rotten and burnt but Justin
seemed to enjoy it. “What is that?” asked Madison while she paid close attention to it.
“This is Korean bbq beef, it’s tasty, succulent and delicious!” replied Justin, “It’s called
bo-ge-go” added Justin. The kids, then saw his slim, black chopsticks and got more
confused. A million questions hovered over Justin. “What are those?” , “Is it called
booger-ge!” Justin’s mind was rushed by the laughter and argues. Everyone made fun of
Justin’s food except for Brian. After, lunch was over and Brian decided to make a card for
Justin. In the card, there were little messages about the bo-ge-go, colourful stripes and
red, retro hearts with loving things about Justin. Brian slipped the card through Justin’s
cubby hole and left. A few minute later, Justin comes and swish! Out comes the card.
The card falls down and his eyes stare at it. As he reads it, his heart gets warmed up and
goes to Brian to say thank you. The next day, the teacher said they had to do a project
between 2 or 3 people. Amilo, Justin and Brian decided to work together. That was the
day when Brian felt important. Have you ever felt lonely? Even if it’s hard feeling
invisible it’ll get better!
